WHAT MATERIAL IS MARI & CLAY SUNGLASSES MADE FROM?
All of our frames are made from bio-acetate, which is an innovative formula developed by the laboratories of Italian company Mazzucchelli 1849. Bio-acetate has been tested to be 100% biodegradable. You can find out more about bio-acetate here.
WHAT DOES BIODEGRADABLE MEAN?
Biodegradable refers to the ability of the material to break down and return to nature.
Traditional plastics can take many hundreds, or up to a thousand, years to biodegrade. We are proud to offer sunglasses made out of bio-acetate that has been tested to be 100% biodegradable in 115 days. That said, the technology is still in early stages and its biodegradability is tested under controlled industrial conditions. As developments in the science around biodegradability advance, we will evolve with what is available and commit to continuous improvement.
In the meantime, you can be certain that your bio-acetate sunglasses are durable and will not disintegrate if you misplace it in the garden.

WHAT KIND OF LENSES COME WITH YOUR SUNGLASSES?
All of our sunglasses use polarised lenses which are great for eliminating dazzling reflections and scattered light so that objects appear clear and soft. Polarised lenses offer better visual clarity and comfort than traditional lenses. These are great for day-to-day driving, going to the beach and participating in water activities.
ARE POLARISED LENSES FOR ME?
When you wear polarised lenses and look at your phone or certain car windows, you may see rainbow reflections. If you turn your head at a certain angle, they will even turn black! This effect occurs when you look at other polarised surfaces through your polarised lenses. Because of this, pilots are not allowed to wear polarised sunglasses since their cockpit and dashboard screens are polarised.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I PLACE MY ORDER?
You will receive an email notification first confirming we have received your order, and a second notification along with a tracking number once your order has been dispatched.
HOW DO I AMEND OR CANCEL AN ORDER AFTER IT HAS BEEN PLACED?
Please email us at info@mariandclay.com.au within five hours of placing the order for any cancellation or amendment. In the email, please include your order number and/or the first and last name associated with the billing address on the order to allow us to help you efficiently.
DO YOU SELL GIFT CARDS?
Yes, we sell digital gift cards with unique codes.
CAN I RECYCLE MY SUNGLASSES?
We encourage you to love your sunglasses for a long time. However, we understand if it’s time to change up the style. We offer a recycling program for your old Mari & Clay sunglasses, with the proof of purchase. You will need to post the sunglasses back at your own expense, and in return, we will offer 25% off on any Mari & Clay full-priced sunglasses! All returned products remain the responsibility of the sender until received by Mari & Clay Pty Ltd.
